Project/Casting Description:

Character-driven horror/thriller feature film seeking diverse, non-traditional ensemble cast, directed by Lynne Hansen, based on a forthcoming novel by four-time Bram Stoker Award nominee Jeff Strand. It’s about a group of strangers who are trapped in a walk-in freezer during a terrorist attack on a grocery store. All ethnicities strongly encouraged. Character actors with theater experience a plus. Must have strong dramatic chops, but also need a good sense of comedic timing. Don’t be afraid to take risks with your interpretation of the character. Prefer actors living in the Tampa Bay area. Lodging and transportation will NOT be provided. Actors must be able to stay in the Tampa Bay area during filming.

CASTING

Male 41-50

Barry – 40′s to 50′s. A weary average guy who is determined to survive by taking charge of a bad situation, all the while acting like he doesn’t really want to be in charge. Think Dante from Clerks if he were 25 years older, sold insurance, and had his arm ripped open by a terrorist wielding a broken bottle.

Female 41-50

Marge – 40′s to 50′s. Used to running the show, though she pretends that’s not her thing. A reluctant hero.

Female 25-30

Vanessa – 20′s to 30′s. A petite woman who is prone to tears because she’s been separated from her husband and young daughter.

Male 31-40

Jonathan – Early 20′s-40′s. Wired and sadistic and not the sharpest crayon in the box.
